We left Texas just before Memorial Day but only traveled as far as Oklahoma, exit 1 on I-35.  Spent the weekend at WinStar Casino.  Our friends Carline and Wade spent the weekend with us.  Ted and Wade played some golf and Carline and I went shopping.  We all enjoyed the casino slots and restaurants.    Ted, Carline and I also began planning a trip to Boston and New York in late July early August.  Ted and I left Oklahoma on Tuesday after the holiday and began our trip north to Michigan by way of South Dakota.  The plan was to get our SD plates renewed and continue our trip to Michigan.

We were back in Robinson in April.  All of Texas is covered with blue bonnets this year, and some of my best pictdures were taken at my Dad and Nelda's and in Carline's side yard.  Two of the Maybin sons were there with their families, and we took some great pictures of them in the blue bonnets.  Ted had another project completed before Easter weekend.  Carline's honey-do list seems to be getting longer.  We spent Easter with her family.

March 2012 - Out-patient surgery and a visit to Dan and Betty's home

March began with outpatient surgery for me in Burnet, Texas.  I had been having trouble with my left knee since before Christmas.  After X-rays, MRI, I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in my left knee.  I suspected the diagnosis since I had a similar surgery in 2009.  I was scheduled on 3/1 for out-patient surgery that went very well.  Trying to get around inside the RV on crutches was worse than the pain caused by surgery.  Two weeks later we were traveling south to Concan/Leakey area to visit my brother Dan and his wife Betty.  They have been remodeling their home and Dan wanted more help with electrical updates to the kitchen, bath areas.  They were making some real progress in the kitchen, shown in the first four pictures.  The last three pictures will eventually be the laundry/master closet; tub/vanity/shower/toilet area of the bath; and last picture of the bedroom area of the master suite.  We spent 6 days in the Concan/Leakey area.  Our Verizon phones don't work there, so we had to rely on the pay phone in the park and Tengo-net connections for internet to communicate with the "outside world."  At least our satelite dish worked so we could see all our favorite TV shows.  It's amazing how much we rely on our cell phones for communication.  I arranged to start twice weekly therapy sessions on my knee when we returned to the Robinson area.  My therapy lasted for 5 weeks and I was recovering nicely when the therapy ended.

Jan and Feb 2012 - More construction projects at the Maybins

We spent most of January and February 2012 in Robinson Texas.  Ted kept busy with three more projects at our friends, Carline and Wade Maybin's, home.  First they built long shelves in the playroom and then added a wall to creat a closet and add entry door.  Carline and Wade really like the new storage created in the large closet.  Ted also rebuilt the cabinet above her fridge so it was a deeper cabinet.  He also taught Wade how to build some shelves in his garage/barn so he could organize his stuff.  I created two new afghans, the first one for Carline from lots of her "left-over" purple yarn.  The second one is another baby afghan.
