Travel log of our trip around USA. We became full time RVers on June 20, 2010 after sale of a home in mid-Michigan. We also sold most of our belongings by holding an auction. Our goal is to visit as much of the USA as possible and keep a record of our trip. We have converted most of our personal records to paperless. Currently former neighbors are forwarding mail.

Jan 15, 2011 thru Feb 17, 2011 Brrr cold weather
Oops, it's been too long since I updated our blog!! So here's some info about where we have been. When we left Titusville, FL we spent one night at the Big Oak RV Park just west of Tallahassee, FL. Nice park not too far off I-10 and there were some really big trees there. We spent two nights back in Destin, FL and visited with Jeff, Joe, and Lauren before heading back to Texas. Rain storms and cooler weather followed us to Lake Charles, LA where we gambled at L'Auberge du Lac Casino. Enjoyed some good food in their restaurants, then on to Marble Falls TX where we had lots of mail waiting for us since we had been traveling for three weeks. The next two weeks were the coldest on record for the "Hill Country" of Texas. We actually had ground- cover snow one morning. Of course the Texans in the area had difficulty driving on the 1/2" to 2" of snow that fell in the Central Texas and Hill Country areas. All the snow-birds in the RV park laughed at the school closings and pictures on news channels of kids sledding down "hills" of snow that were lucky to have 1/2" of snow on them. We survived the cold spell with no frozen pipes, and didn't have to replace our light jackets with winter coats, hats or gloves.
