Travel log of our trip around USA. We became full time RVers on June 20, 2010 after sale of a home in mid-Michigan. We also sold most of our belongings by holding an auction. Our goal is to visit as much of the USA as possible and keep a record of our trip. We have converted most of our personal records to paperless. Currently former neighbors are forwarding mail.

Drive to Arizona in March 2011
March 4, 2011 we headed west on I-10 toward Arizona. Spent one night on the way at KOA park in Van Horn, Texas. The KOA is close to I-10, had very large pull-through spaces. We were on our way to Benson, AZ to visit friends Bob and Phyllis. We hadn't seen them for several years and were looking forward to a visit with them. The pictures above were taken during stops in Rest Areas on I-10. The first was in New Mexico, very flat country, but interesting area provided for travelers get out of the sun. The second picture was taken while we stopped just inside Arizona in the Texas canyon. The rocks were enormous and I was later informed no matter where you travel in Arizona you can see mountains. We surprised our friends Bob and Phyllis after arriving at the Cochise Terrace RV Resort in Benson AZ. Really nice park, with large pull-through spaces available. It is also a Passport America park, with very reasonable rates, and lots of amenities. It was close to I-10 for site seeing, but far enough away that we did not hear traffic.
